Hans Original 2009 Drawing

I suppose I should really post this drawing at some point, shouldn't I?

This is the original drawing of Hans that I drew one day during 2D Composition class. He was, interestingly, drawn -after- Ealdwaine. Anyways, I was in the mood to draw an NPC, some sort of enemy you'd find in a starting zone somewhere. He wasn't necessarily intended to be a bad guy, but perhaps a training partner for a player. I eventually came up with a name for him and had the thought that he might make a decent main character. After all, the world has plenty of beefy heroes in video games. It has plenty of skinny underdogs, too, but I still find them a bit more interesting than someone who chugs protein shakes.

Later on, I vastly simplified the design, getting rid of the baggy hand-me-down shirt and changing his hair color and style. (seen here: [link]) The pants in the original drawing were a nod to noob-level mail gear in the human starting zone of World of Warcraft, but once I had tossed out the idea of any relation to that game, I decided changing the bright color to something more toned-down would be better.
